NAUGATUCK — The Board of Mayor and Burgesses last week locked in fuel prices for September through next August.

The board approved agreements with East River Energy out of Guilford for diesel fuel at $1.785 a gallon for 32,000 gallons, heating oil for $1.765 a gallon for 26,600 gallons, and regular unleaded gasoline for $1.56 for 73,000 gallons.

Mayor N. Warren “Pete” Hess said the borough is part of a consortium of municipalities to get better prices.
