NAUGATUCK — The borough will continue to use a field on Cross Street for recreation for at least another three years.

The Board of Mayor and Burgesses agreed to enter into a contract with the Archdiocese of Hartford for use of Cotton Hollow Field for baseball, softball and other recreational use.

The contract states that Naugatuck will get use of the field for $1 for the next three years. It is unclear what will become of the land after those three years. It appears from plans given by the Archdiocese of Hartford to the borough that the land may one day be used as burial grounds for the Saint James Cemetery, which is above the field.
