NAUGATUCK — Firefighters quickly put out a car fire on Meadow Street on Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to a 2014 Dodge Journey on fire at 142 Meadow St. at about 1:55 p.m. Assistant Chief Walter Seaman said firefighters extinguished the fire in about 5 minutes and had and it totally under control in about 30 minutes.
Seaman said firefighters were able to stop the blaze from spreading to a building about 8 feet away. No injuries were reported, he said.
Officials were unsure where the fire started in the 2014 Dodge Journey as the car was fully engulfed upon firefighters’ arrival.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials don’t believe the cause is suspicious.
