NAUGATUCK — Borough resident and author Dr. Jerry Labriola’s latest novel, “Deadly Politics,” combines his experiences in the political arena, medicine and international travel.
“Deadly Politics” follows the character of Dr. David Brooks, who has given up his medical practice to become a private investigator, as he investigates the murder of the sitting Connecticut governor.
The novel is the 13th book Labriola has written since he retired from practicing medicine 16 years ago. He has written nine mystery novels and co-authored four books dealing with forensic science with Dr. Henry Lee.
The novel combines Labriola’s experiences has a politician, doctor and from traveling on international cruises.
Labriola practiced medicine for 35 years and was an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut Medical School. He also served as a state senator and has run for lieutenant governor, governor and U.S. Senate. For the past nine years, he has been a regular lecturer on international cruises discussing forensic science, mystery and true crimes issues.
