REGION 16 — Starting next school year, the criteria for making the honor roll will be the same for Woodland Regional High School and Long River Middle School students.

The Region 16 Board of Education, which oversees schools in Beacon Falls and Prospect, approved revised honor roll criteria last month. Under the new criteria, Woodland and Long River students will earn high honors with a 93 percent average or above, and honors with an average of 85 through 92 percent. Students can’t have any grade less than a 70 percent.

Currently, the criteria is different at both schools. The criteria to make the honor roll at Woodland is the same as the revised criteria with the exception that students need a 92 percent or better to make high honors. The honor roll at Long River currently breaks students into three categories: highest honors (95 to 100 percent), high honors (90 to 94 percent) and honors (80 to 89 percent).
