BEACON FALLS — Upper classmen at Woodland Regional High School will have new elective courses to choose from next school year.

The Region 16 Board of Education unanimously approved adding three courses for juniors and seniors: anatomy and physiology, AP art history and manufacturing.

The anatomy and manufacturing courses will have no impact on the school budget, and the art class will have no impact for its first year, according to Superintendent Michael Yamin.

“It’s exciting to see the district expanding its course offerings to engage kids with different interests,” Yamin said. “Woodland will be a competitive high school with different offerings. This is a step in the right direction for Woodland continuing to become a school that meets the needs of all our kids.”
