Board OKs contract for public works superintendent

NAUGATUCK — The Board of Mayor and Burgesses last week approved a new two-year contract with Public Works Superintendent Robert Roland.

The contract, which is retroactive to July 1, 2017, runs through June 30, 2019.

Under the contract, Roland’s salary increased 2 percent to $79,470 this year. He will receive another 2 percent raise in 2018-19, which will bring his salary to $81,059.

Roland will be enrolled in a high deductible health care plan with a $2,000/$4,000 annual deductible, according to the contract.

The health care plan, under the contract, has a 10 percent premium cost-share contribution toward the annual premium.

Under the contract, Roland is given a borough-owned or leased vehicle to use while at work.
