NAUGATUCK — The Board of Mayor and Burgesses named its first five members to the newly-formed Renewable Energy Committee.
Burgess Bob Neth initiated the idea for the committee because he wants to seek ways to put solar panels, or other alternative energy solutions, in the community to benefit the borough.
He has asked Burgess Alexander Olbrys to be on the committee, too. Last week, the board also appointed Ron Pugliese, president and chief executive officer of the Naugatuck Economic Development Corporation, Department of Public Works Director Jim Stewart and environmentalist and community activist Melissa Leonard to also serve on the committee.
