A bear was spotted in Beacon Falls, as well, in the area of Woodland Regional High School and Rimmon Hill Road around 7:45 a.m.

Beacon Falls Resident State Trooper Humberto Henriques said police checked the area and contacted  security officers at the school after the reports came in. The school day was not interrupted.

Henriques said police believe the bear went back into its habitat. He said if residents see a bear they should not feed it and keep a safe distance.
