Beacon Hose reports service calls

BEACON FALLS — Beacon Hose Company No. 1 responded to 51 emergency medical service calls and 23 fire calls in April, the company reported.

The company also provided fire mutual aid to Bethany and Seymour, and responded to EMS mutual aid requests in Naugatuck, Seymour and Oxford. All calls, including drills and work details, and stand-by hours resulted in over 475 man hours of service, the company reported.

The department also conducted training exercises, including driver training and department familiarization on the new ladder truck, mandatory bloodborne, airborne and hazmat training, and pediatric emergencies.
