BEACON FALLS — Beacon Hose Company No. 1 responded to 54 emergency medical service calls and 16 fire calls in December, the company reported.
The company also responded to mutual fire aid calls in Naugatuck and Seymour, as well as providing mutual aid for EMS calls in Naugatuck, Seymour and Prospect. All calls, including drills, work details and stand-by, resulted in over 400 man hours of service, the company reported.
Fire training consisted of Rapid Intervention Teams and department familiarization on new equipment and techniques. EMS training consisted of the yearly review of calls, new equipment and department procedures. The Junior Corp trained on ladders and equipment familiarization.
