BEACON FALLS — The town issued a reminder to residents about its snow removal policy.

The town’s policy is to clear roads from curb to curb. To reduce the risk of having to clear sidewalks and driveways multiple times, residents are asked to wait to clear snow until the town is completely finished clearing their street.

The town will not repair or replace objects in streets’ right-of-ways that are damaged by cast from a snow plow unless there is evidence of negligence.

The town will not repair or replace objects in streets’ right-of-ways that are struck by a snow plow unless there is evidence of negligence, they are mailboxes located 20 inches or more from the edge of the paved surface of the road with physical evidence to claim they were struck by a town plow, or the objects were located 20 inches or more from the edge of the paved surface of the road with physical evidence supporting the claim and the objects were permitted in writing by the town to be located in the right-of-way.

Residents are responsible for clearing in front of their mailbox for mail delivery.

It is also prohibited for anyone to deposit or cause to be deposited snow or ice on any public sidewalk or road.
