Beacon Falls police investigating fraud


BEACON FALLS — Police are investigating a fraud complaint that was traced back to checks stolen from a mailbox.

Police said the Resident State Trooper’s Office received the complaint on the evening of May 2. The investigation revealed that someone had stolen checks from the mailbox in front the Beacon Falls Post Office on North Main Street, forged signatures on the checks and then deposited into an account electrically.

No further information was included in the news release.
