BEACON FALLS — A 37-year-old Seymour man is facing charges after police say he broke into a home on Pinesbridge Road and stole wires and copper.

According to a press release issued by state police Troop I in Bethany, an officer responded to 226 Pinesbridge Road at about 3:15 p.m. Jan. 30 for a reported burglary alarm. The officer noticed a white man, later identified as Steven Sender of 24 Rosko St., Seymour, near the back of the property, the release stated. The officer detained and questioned Sender, who told police he was just cutting through and didn’t live at the home, according to the release.

The investigation revealed Sender entered the building and removed conduit wire as well as a bucket of copper items, the release stated.

Sender was charged with burglary in the third degree and larceny in the sixth degree. He was released on a $1,000 bond and given a court date of Feb. 14 to appear in Derby Superior Court.
