BFTownHall2BEACON FALLS — The Beacon Falls Library in conjunction with RBdigital from Recorded Books has launched Universal Class, an online continuing education service.

Universal Class offers a catalog of over 500 courses, including such subjects as entrepreneurship, arts and music, home and garden care and computers and technology, as well as certificates of achievement and Continuing Education Units.

“I found Universal Class to be a great way to learn about a variety of topics, ranging from fun courses like candle making, to advanced learning, such as microbiology and chemistry,” said Beacon Falls Public Library Board of Trustee Chairperson Ken Priestley in a press release.

Priestley said the library is able to provide the service through funding from The Katharine Matthies Foundation and Bank of America.

Priestley said the courses are designed so users can learn at their own pace and convenience.

“There is something here for everyone,” Priestley said in the release. “I am a firm believer that you should never stop learning, and Universal Class gives us the opportunity to continue to learn in an easy-to-use format.”
