Beacon Falls hosting Cardboard Boat Regatta

BEACON FALLS — The 3rd Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta will set sail on Carrington Pond at Matthies Park July 11.

The guidelines for the race state all boats must be made entirely out of cardboard and carry a crew of at least two people. There is no size limit for the boats. Duct tape, paper tape or packing tape may be used along the seams only. Glue, such as Gorilla Glue or Elmer’s, can be used. No waterproof sealants, epoxy, tar, fiberglass or other such materials are allowed. Any type of oars can be used.

All crew members must wear life preservers, be able to swim and must wear shoes or water shoes.
