CNLogo1BEACON FALLS — A man from Waterbury was killed in a two-car accident just after 10:30 a.m. on Beacon Valley Road.

The man was driving a Pontiac sedan, which collided with a Mercury sedan and rolled over in the 100 block of Beacon Valley Road near the Naugatuck line. A man and woman in the Mercury sedan were transported to Griffin Hospital in Derby with minor injuries, said Jeremy Rodorigo, spokesman for the Beacon Hose fire company.

Naugatuck firefighters, who were first on the secene, extricated the body from the Pontiac and the man was pronounced dead on the scene, Rodorigo said.

Further identification had not yet been released as of mid-afternoon Thursday.

Beacon Valley Road was closed until approximately 1 p.m. while state police investigated the accident.

Rodorigo said state police performed an accident reconstruction and the investigation into the cause of the accident could take a while.
