NAUGATUCK — Jordan Byron, a part-time technical assistant for the Naugatuck High School band, is no longer employed with the district, according to Human Resources Director John Lawler.

Byron, 26, was arrested Nov. 15 after a 16-year-old girl and member of the band, reported that he sexually harassed her.

Police searched Byron’s Milford home and seized a computer on which they found evidence that he was sending the girl sexual messages on a social networking site, according to Naugatuck Police Department Lt. Bryan Cammarata.

Byron was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Waterbury Superior Court.

Security officials with the school system investigated the matter. Early this week, Lawler said that Byron was no longer employed at the school. He declined to comment any further since it was a personnel issue.
