CNLogo1‘Girl Talk’ lecture continues

MIDDLEBURY — The sixth installment in the series “Girl Talk” will be held May 6.

The program, “Should I or Shouldn’t I?” will cover the topics of fibroids, polyps and heavy bleeding. The informative talk will be presented by Dr. Joseph David Millerick and Dr. Elizabeth Kelly, physicians with The Center for Women’s Health, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the café of the Middlebury Consignment Shops, 1365 Whittemore Road.

The free lectures were launched in October 2012 focusing on women’s health and wellness. The series is being hosted by The Center for Women’s Health in Connecticut in collaboration with Naugatuck Valley Radiology Associates, and is scheduled for the first Monday of most months.

Sisters to Sisters Book Club to meet

WATERBURY — The Sisters to Sisters Book Club will meet May 6 at 6 p.m. at the Silas Bronson Library, 267 Grand St., to discuss “The Twelve Tribes of Hattie.”

Quilts that Care holding meeting

WATERBURY — Quilts that Care, an organization that makes quilts for people who undergo cancer treatment, will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 6 at the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway.

Waterbury Arc holding wine and beer tasting

WATERBURY — Waterbury Arc, Inc. is holding its annual wine and beer tasting May 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Aria Wedding and Banquet facility, 45 Murphy Road, Prospect.

Tickets are $35. The proceeds from the event will benefit programs and services at Watebrury ARC, which serves people with developmental disabilities throughout Greater Waterbury. For tickets, call (203) 575-0707.

Family Fun Walk to benefit Easter Seals

MIDDLEBURY — A Family Fun Walk will be held May 11 at Quassy Amusement Park to benefit Waterbury Easter Seals.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and the walk will begin at 11 a.m., rain or shine. Walkers can sign up as a team captain or join a team. Each team sets a fundraising goal, with each team member striving to raise a minimum of $100. Every $50 donation will receive an All Day Quassy Ride pass for the day of event and a t-shirt.
