BEACON FALLS — An animal rights group has increased the reward its offering for information leading the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for shooting “Oreo” the cat in Beacon Falls.

The shooting occurred on Nov. 11 in the area of Burton and Munson roads, according to police. The shooting was reported on Nov. 18 by Animal Friends of Connecticut, which paid for the necessary medical procedures. Oreo has since recovered. The group initially offered a reward of $500 for information but has increased that figure to $600.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information can call Trooper Andrew Borelli at (203) 729-3313.
