NAUGATUCK — A man is in critical condition following a two-car accident on Spring Street this morning.
The accident occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday near the Waterbury border, Naugatuck police spokesman Lt. Bryan Cammarata said. He said the cars collided head-on.
Two men were in one car and a woman was alone in the other, Cammarata said. All three were taken to the hospital with injuries. He said the man who was driving one of the cars is listed in critical condition with serious injuries. The other two people are being evaluated at the hospital, he said.
A portion of the road is closed as police investigate the accident. As of 2:30 p.m. police were still actively investigating at the scene and working to piece together what happened, Cammarata said. No further details were available as of this post.
Cammarata said he expects the road to be opened by about 4 p.m.
