Officials seek information, videos as fire investigation continues

BEACON FALLS — As officials continue to investigate a fire that destroyed a building in Beacon Falls, the town’s Fire Marshal’s Office is seeking the public’s help.

A fire gutted a storage warehouse at 234 Rimmon Hill Road Aug. 29. Beacon Hose Co. No. 1 responded to the fire at about 2:35 a.m. The fire burned for hours, and firefighters from five surrounding towns responded to provide mutual aid. Officials demolished the building to help completely extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials are asking any residents who may have seen any suspicious activity or who have security cameras facing the street in the area of Rimmon Hill Road, including the streets of Back Rimmon Road, Pines Bridge Road, West Road and surrounding side streets, to contact Deputy Fire Marshal Cal Brennan at 203-598-8827. All tips will remain confidential.
