‘Kick Plastic’ event planned in borough

NAUGATUCK — A nonprofit organization is looking for some volunteers to help “Kick Plastic” from the Naugatuck River.

Naugatuck Pomperaug Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Connecticut Council of Trout Unlimited and Trout Unlimited National are holding the Naugatuck River “Kick Plastic” Cleanup on Aug. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. Volunteers will meet at Linden Park on Riverside Drive, and from there will go to several river access points in the borough to clean up trash. A party at a local establishment will be held after the event.

The “Kick Plastic” is national movement sponsored by SweetWater Brewing and Costa Sunglasses as part of a collaborative effort to protect waterways.
