NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck Public Schools announced a new logo for the district following a year-long project involving students from every school.

The Board of Education was using the Tuttle house as its symbol. The board previously had its offices at the historic home on Church Street, but moved its offices to Naugatuck High School after the renovation project was finished several years ago.

Naugatuck High art and graphic design students came up with concept sketches for the new logo. The designs were sent to a committee consisting of art teachers, Board of Education members and administrators to pick the best one.

The new logo is not replacing the individual mascots for each of school, but rather will serve as the overarching logo for the entire district, a news release stated.
