NAUGATUCK — The Zoning Commission last week continued a hearing on a special permit application for a new car wash on New Haven Road.

The commission continued the hearing to its Aug. 21 meeting at 6:05 p.m.

According to the application, the plan is to demolish a residential building that is in disrepair at 1015 New Haven Road and build a car wash on the 0.72-acre lot, which is at the corner of Weid Drive and New Haven Road. The site plan shows the exit and entrance to the car wash will be on New Haven Road.

The application states the car wash would take six months to build and the project is estimated to cost $875,000. The car wash would be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and have five employees, the application states.
