NAUGATUCK — The borough is seeking seniors interested in participating in the Elderly Tax Credit Program for the 2019-20 fiscal year.

Through the program, eligible participants work 10 to 40 hours a week for borough departments. They are paid $10 per hour and the money earned is credited to their property taxes.

Applicants must be at least 65 years old, a Naugatuck resident, reside in the borough 12 months per year, own and occupy the property for which taxes are paid and credit is being requested, meet financial guidelines, and have appropriate skills for positions.

Applications are available at the Mayor’s Office at Naugatuck Town Hall, 229 Church St. The deadline to apply is July 19. For information, contact Janice Dambowsky at 203-720-7009 or jdambowsky@naugatuck-ct.gov.

  1. Revaluation is murder on the tax paying home owning elderly. They feel this increase, not like the “Federal” funded non home owners living for free using Naugatuck’s services and schools. Democrats aligned this mess, just for votes and to stay in power. Big mess. They should be ashamed of themselves. Ct is a disaster.
