School district announces summer food program

NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck Public Schools is participating in the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program, which provides free meals to children 18 years old and younger during the summer months.

The program starts Monday and runs through Aug. 9. Meals are available on weekdays, except July 4 and July 5.

There are nine locations in Naugatuck where children can get a meal. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Central Avenue School and Naugatuck High School. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Andrew Avenue Elementary School, Hop Brook Elementary School, Salem Elementary School, Legion Field, Baummers Pond, Maple Hill Elementary School and the Naugatuck YMCA.

Breakfast will also be served at Naugatuck High from 8 to 9 a.m.
