Police: Man made off with cigarettes

PROSPECT — Police are searching for a man who ran off with two cartons of cigarettes from a smoke shop Tuesday morning.

Police said the suspect, described as a white man wearing a yellow, vest-type shirt and blue jeans, entered the Prospect Smoke Shop, 50 Waterbury Road, at about 10:15 a.m., then ran out of the store with two cartons of Newport cigarettes. The man got into a silver or gray Nissan, police said, and drove away on Waterbury Road toward Waterbury. Police got a partial license plate number of the car of AT525.
