**UPDATED**News ReleaseVehicle Theft5/21/19We thank the public for their assistance in this case. **RECOVERED**Naugatuck Police are investigating the theft of a 2015 Black Audi A5 (CT Reg: AU23947) from Cumberland Farms on North Main Street at about 5:50 PM. In the surveillance footage which is attached to this release the victim (yellow shirt) can be seen fueling his vehicle when an unknown suspect enters the driver's side of the vehicle and leaves with it. Furthermore, a newer model white Lexus which is believed to be involved in this incident is also attached to the video leaving the area. Note: The video quality is low due to it being transmitted in from the field for the community and our followers to view immediately. It is our belief that a brazen daylight theft of a vehicle like this should be disseminated quickly to the public so that you can take precautions when fueling your vehicle. This is balanced against the often lengthy and cumbersome process of downloading higher quality footage over several media devices and several days to prep it for a higher quality release. If anyone as information about this incident please contact Naugatuck Police at 203-729-5221.
