PROSPECT — The Region 16 Board of Education this month approved the hire of Anthony DiLeone Jr. as the district’s new director of finance and business operations.

DiLeone is currently the director of technology and interim itinerant business manager for EdAdvance in Litchfield, one of Connecticut’s six Regional Educational Service Centers or RESCs. His first day in Region 16, which is comprised of Beacon Falls and Prospect, is Friday. His starting salary will be $115,000, according to Superintendent of Schools Michael Yamin.

DiLeone, a Northfield resident, has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Post University in Waterbury and is pursuing his master’s degree, his resume states. He has worked for EdAdvance since 2011. Before that, he was the senior systems engineer for Tri-Tec Electronics in Waterbury, according to his resume.

DiLeone is replacing former Director of Finance and Business Operations Pamela Mangini, who left the district March 1 to take the director of finance position for North Haven Public Schools. James R. Carroll, a Beacon Falls resident and member of the town’s Board of Finance, has served as interim finance director since Mangini left. Yamin said Carroll will temporarily stay on one day a week to help with the transition.
