NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Police Department is participating in the national U Drive. U Text. U Pay. distracted driving campaign through April 30.

The goal of the campaign is to step up enforcement efforts to catch distracted drivers and enforce distracted-driving laws.

Drivers who are ticketed in Connecticut for distracted driving are fined $150 for the first offense, $300 for the second offense, and $500 for the third and subsequent offenses.
