NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Police Department is inviting residents to have coffee with a cop this week.

Naugatuck police officers, including Chief Steven Hunt, will be at Dunkin’ Donuts, 72 Bridge St., on Friday from 8 to 10 a.m. for the Naugatuck Police Department’s first-ever Coffee with a Cop event. The morning will offer residents a chance to have an informal conversation with officers on what’s on their minds.

Coffee with a Cop is a national community policing program designed to increase interaction with police and the community outside of the typical crisis situations that law enforcement officers respond to within the community.

Naugatuck police plan to hold more Coffee with a Cop events in the future at different locations in the borough.
