PROSPECT — Police charged a 13-year-old Long River Middle School student after authorities say the student sent a photo of himself, from the neck down, holding an airsoft gun to a female student.

Police responded to the school on April 10 to investigate the incident, which was reported by school officials. Police said the 13-year-old, whose name wasn’t released due to his age, told the female student that the picture was of another student who made a threat to the school previously and was suspended. Police said the teen admitted he was the person in the photo and that the gun was an airsoft gun.

Police issued the teen a juvenile summons complaint and charged him second-degree breach of peace. He was scheduled to appear at Waterbury Juvenile Court on April 17.

  1. I posted my question on April, 29th 2019. It’s May 22nd and I’ve yet to receive a reply! So what’s new?

  2. Am I missing something about this story? From what I understand a 13 yo boy sent a picture of himself from the neck down holding an airsoft gun to a female…..and he’s being arrested???
Is there anything left out of this report? Can someone enlighten me as to what this boy did that’s so wrong? I don’t understand the “crime” involved.
