Naugatuck High accepting applications for scholarship

NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck High School is accepting applications for the Chip Aldrich Memorial Scholarship.

Aldrich, who died in 2016, was a special education teacher in the Naugatuck school district from 1990 to 2016. He was also the assistive technology consultant.

The scholarship is offered to a Naugatuck High senior with a documented learning disability who is pursuing higher education at a college, trade or technical school. This award is open to a student who has worked hard to overcome the effects of his or her disability.

Applicants are asked to submit essay with 250 or more words describing their academic ambitions and how this award will help achieve them, as well as a letter of recommendation from a resource teacher with whom they have worked with throughout their high school career.

Interested students should contact Michelle Curtiss in the guidance office at 203-720-5404 for an application. The deadline to submit an application is April 22.
