PROSPECT — Police referred a 12-year-old Long River Middle School student to Waterbury Juvenile Court following an incident involving another student at the school on March 22.

Police said the student, whose name wasn’t released due to his age, intentionally caused another student to fall, injuring the student. The referral was made after a video was posted to Snapchat, a social media messaging app, police said.

Police issued the 12-year-old a Waterbury Juvenile Court summons for second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault, and the student was released to his parents.
