NAUGATUCK — The Zoning Commission is considering expanding the Rubber Avenue Design District to include four additional properties.

The four properties, located at 828, 824, 816, and 780 Rubber Avenue, are zoned as residential. Under the proposal, the four properties would be brought into the Rubber Avenue Design District. The four properties are adjacent to the design district.

The design district allows for properties to be used either as commercial or residential.

The property at 780 Rubber Ave., which is owned by Cornerstone Custom Builders, LLC, according to the property card, is a commercial office building. The other three are residential properties.

Zoning Enforcement Officer Ed Carter said the Zoning Commission will likely hold a hearing on the proposal during its May meeting.
