BEACON FALLS — Officials have chosen Natasha Nau as the town’s new finance manager.

Nau, a Stamford resident, started as finance manager on March 11. She has a Bachelor of Science in public policy and administration with a minor in human resource development from James Madison University, according to her resume. She earned her Master of Public Administration with a concentration in public management from the University of Delaware.

Nau worked as the assistant deputy commissioner for management for the Philadelphia Fire Department from December 2016 to 2018, according to her resume. In January, she founded RightNauConsulting LLC, a firm that provides professional consulting services for governmental entities and small businesses in financial and other areas, such as website design.

The town hired Nau through McInnis Inc., a human resources firm that specializes in recruiting and temporary staffing. Nau is working for the town on a temporary basis through the firm for now. After six months, officials will decide whether to make her the permanent finance director.

The finance director is a part-time position that works about 20 to 30 hours a week. Nau’s salary is $45 an hour.

Officials have been searching for a finance director for several months. Thomas Thompson started as the town’s finance manager last July. However, a couple months later, officials decided not to continue his contract past the probationary period and began searching for another finance manager.

In the interim, the town relied on former Finance Manager Thomas Broesler, who worked as a contractor, and Finance Assistant Erin Schwarz to manage the position’s responsibilities.
