Letter: Budget meeting kept below radar

To the editor,

According to the Prospect Town Charter, the mayor is required to present a proposed budget on or before March 10. As of close of business on March 6, no information was available on the town’s website or in any the local newspapers as to when or where that presentation was being conducted.

Last year, the same event was held on a rainy Saturday morning in a dark corner of the town garage with only one member of the public present. I hope I’m not the only resident that’s wondering why the Mayor’s Office tries so hard to keep such an important event below the public’s radar.
