WATERBURY — Rhonda Marie Monarca, 50, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 peacefully at her home.
Rhonda was born on Sept. 23, 1968 in Derby, the daughter of the late Ronald and Marilyn (Graham) Marxo. She worked for many years at Southbury Training School and was a longtime Naugatuck resident before moving to Waterbury in 2008.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Monarca of Bristol; her siblings, Colinda Hunt of Naugatuck, Ronald Marxo Jr. of Ansonia and Richard Marxo of Naugatuck. Beside her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Kevin Marxo.
Rhonda was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She had an extremely contagious laugh and always knew how to bring a smile to everyone’s face. She also had a love for everything country, and you’d always hear her listening to country music while singing along. When she wasn’t working, she loved nothing more than having big get-togethers with family and friends. She will forever be greatly loved and missed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., with a funeral service at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held in the spring in Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 260 Cochituate Road, Suite 200, Framingham, MA 01701.
