NAUGATUCK — The Whittemore Library is featuring the artwork of Costa Rican artist Maritza Chacon Bermudez this month.
Bermudez was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and relocated to Isla Margarita, Venezuela, where she studied visual arts including drawing and painting, a press release stated. Bermudez returned to Costa Rica to study with Leo Yang at the Botica Solera Cultural Complex of the Municipality of San Jose, as well as with arista Olga Spinach. It was during this time that she was able to participate in a number of exhibitions and showcase her work, the release stated.
