Obituary: Antonia M. Halloran

NAUGATUCK — Antonia “Ann” M. Halloran, 96, wife of the late Joseph G. Halloran, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at the Glendale Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born on Aug. 9, 1922 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Agatha (Anzardi) Sciascia. Ann lived in Naugatuck most of her life and was a retiree of Peter Paul. She played in the Peter Paul Duck Pin Bowling League and was an avid golfer. She was a member of the Western Hills Ladies Golf Association, where she enjoyed playing in and setting up tournaments and fundraisers. Ann was also a regular at Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s bingo games.

Ann is survived by her two sons, Joseph Halloran and his wife, Laura, of Thomaston, and Richard Halloran and his wife, Cindy, of Prospect; her grandchildren, Kaitlin Halloran and Adam Porter-Price, Christopher Halloran and Emily Kozak, Gregory Halloran and Anastassia Zabirova, and Megan Halloran and Kyle Landry; her sister, Grace Davison of Hilton Head, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 40 years and her parents, Ann is predeceased by her sisters, Marian Mezzio, Sadie Carissimi and Rose Guerrera; and her brothers, James Shaw and Joseph Sciascia.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There will be no calling hours.
