NAUGATUCK — Alberto Santos, 75, husband of Ana (Teixeira) Santos, died unexpectedly on Jan. 29, 2019 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Alberto was born on Aug. 15, 1943 in Vilar de Nantes, Portugal and resided in Naugatuck for the past 50 years. Alberto retired from Ansonia Copper & Brass and was a member of Portuguese Sport Club. Alberto was a faithful and active member and volunteer of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and formerly served as a Eucharistic minister at the church.
In addition to Ana, his wife of 48 years, Alberto is survived by his son, Alberto Santos Jr.; his daughter, Melanie Santos; his seven sisters, Telma Teixeira, Hortense DaRocha, Fatima DaSilva, Ana Nazare Santos, Dalila Teixeira, Anabela Santos and Candida DeOliveira; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Everyone is kindly asked to meet at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Wednesday from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
