Lauren Ann (Cooper) Clemons

PORT SAINT LUCIE, Fla. — Lauren Ann (Cooper) Clemons, loving wife and mother, began her final journey on Aug. 31, 2018. Laurie was born on June 7, 1960 in Waterbury, Conn. to Harry and Alice (Mooney) Cooper.

She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Waterbury and received her BA in criminal justice from Salve Regina in Newport, R.I. On June 4, 1983 she married Jay Allen Clemons. They raised one son, Jason.

Laurie had a talent for making people happy and had an infectious smile and laugh. She was a past president of Junior Women’s Club, led various scrapbooking and quilting groups, and was a substitute teacher for the Region 16 School District at Long River Middle School, where she gained the respect of her students, many of whom she kept in contact with. She also took up the daunting task of being the family genealogist with the help of her cousin, Deb Camejo.

Laurie was predeceased by her father, Harry; her mother, Alice; and her beloved brother, Jerry; and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, Jay, and son, Jason, of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; sister, Patricia Cooper, and brother, Edward Cooper, both of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of Laurie Clemons on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 8 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls, Conn. All are invited to attend.
