Letter: Former volunteer grateful to the people

To the editor,

I have volunteered for the town in many ways over my lifetime in Beacon Falls. It is a community that I love and take pride in. I have recently resigned my latest position on the Board of Finance which I have held for the past four and a half years.

After my many years of service I simply needed a break from the politics and operation of the town. I have had the pleasure of being involved with many projects and improvements that the town has seen over this time, and I would like to say thank you to the people who supported me and my work along the way.

To all the many employees, consultants and volunteers who took the time to speak with me and educate me on topics ranging from finance, HR, economic development, firetruck purchases and wastewater treatment plants, to name a few areas, I am forever grateful for their help. I am not sure if this is the end of my service to the town, but it is just simply time to take a step back and let others carry the ball for a while. I want nothing but good things for the town and encourage others from all parties to get involved with the community. Government is run by the people who show up, so please show up.

I am grateful to the people for allowing me to serve.
