NAUGATUCK — Students of music are welcome to perform during a Bob Veillette Recital Evening in September.

The event for students of piano, voice and various musical instruments is Sept. 10 at the Whittemore Library in memory of Veillette.

Veillette, a Naugatuck man and pianist, started the recital in 2004. Veillette suffered a brain stem stroke in 2006 that left him paralyzed from the nose down. His friends continued the recitals to maintain his vision of providing children an opportunity to perform in front of live audiences to develop confidence. He died in September 2017.

All students of music are welcome to perform. For more information or to sign up, contact Helen Boxer at 203-232-5735 or helenboxer@gmail.com.
