Helen A. (Maclina) Novocinski

WATERBURY — Helen A. (Maclina) Novocinski, 93, widow of Jacob Cherepinsky and Henry A. Novocinski, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018 at Autumn Lake Health Care.

She was born in Waterbury on Oct. 14, 1924, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Maclina. A lifelong resident of Waterbury, Helen was a graduate of Bucks Hill School and Wilby High School. She worked as a machine operator and did defense work for the United States Navy at
Waterbury Tool Company, and had also worked for Timex. She was a member of the AARP since 1980, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating with her family.

Mrs. Novocinski is survived by her two sons, Robert Cherepinsky and his wife, Marcia, of Ladson, S.C., and Henry Novocinski, Jr of Waterbury; a daughter, Linda H. Novocinski of Waterbury; a sister, Isabella Vitkauskas of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a brother, Francis Maclina of Waterbury; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Maclina; her sister-in-law, Yvette Maclina, and her longtime companion, Vincent Budris.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
