BEACON FALLS/WOLCOTT — Thelma Mikelskas, 100, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Shady Oaks in Bristol. She was the wife of the late George Mikelskas.

Mrs. Mikelskas was born June 24, 1918 in Watson Town, Pa., the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Kurtz) Deisher. A longtime resident of Beacon Falls, she was a communicant of St Michael’s Church as well as a member of the senior center. She worked at Wolk’s Store in Oakville and was a retiree of the Eastern Company in Naugatuck. Most recently she had been a Wolcott resident, residing with her daughter and her grandson.

Mrs. Mikelskas is survived by her sisters, Helen Wooster and Dorothy Strusinski; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Mikelskas; her grandson, Fred Parker and his wife, Dianna; her granddaughter, Audra MacNaugt and her husband, Brian; her great-grandchildren, Sara, Amy, Ryan, Joshua, Klara; her great-great-grandchildren, Amya and Julian; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her sons, George and John Mikelskas; and her sister, Lois Murray.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018, 10:15 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., to St. Michaels Church in Beacon Falls. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the procession leaves for church at 10:15 a.m.
