Letter: Business’ support makes flag project possible

To the editor,

I ask everyone in town to join me in thanking Ed the Tree Man for his continued contributions to the community. As people drive through town they will again see over 100 American flags displaying respect and thanks to all members of the military past and present.

This is the seventh year that Ed has donated equipment and manpower to put the flags up. His crews also take them down as winter approaches. Without his support the project would have never grown to where it is. Worn and damaged flags are replaced during the winter and new ones are added to the display.

The cost of the flags, brackets and poles is handled with assistance from the mayor’s office by the Prospect Flag Fund, which is funded entirely by private donations. Thank you Ed and all those who have contributed in the past.
