NAUGATUCK — Liberty Bank recently awarded the Naugatuck YMCA $3,000 to be used with other donations and grants to build the “You Belong: Adaptable Playscape.”

The adaptable outdoor playscape is designed to provide a safe place where children of all abilities can learn, play and thrive outside, a press release stated. It will be built in the spring behind the YMCA on Church Street between the YMCA’s staff parking lot and St. Francis Church.

The YMCA is looking to raise $80,000 total for the playscape and has received multiple other grants and donations for the project.

“Together with our corporate and community partners we are hoping to make this playground a reality,” stated Naugatuck YMCA CEO Susan Talbot in the press release.

The YMCA will be recruiting volunteers to help build the playscape. For more information or to donate, call the YMCA at 203-729-9622 or visit naugatuckymca.org/you-belong-playscape.
