Prospect Scholarship Foundation

PROSPECT — The Prospect Scholarship Foundation is offering two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Prospect who are attending a post-secondary school in 2018.

The foundation will determine its awards for both scholarships based on a combination of academic achievement, character, demonstrated leadership, community service and participation in school activities. Financial need is also a consideration for one of the scholarships.

Applications are available at the Prospect Business Association’s website, prospectbusiness.org. Woodland Regional High School students can also apply though the school’s guidance office. Applications must be postmarked on or before March 23.

DAR Lady Fenwick Chapter

The Lady Fenwick Chapter of the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is a resident of Prospect or Cheshire and a U.S. citizen.

The Lady Fenwick Dorothy Capella Scholarship will be awarded to a student who will pursue an undergraduate degree in American history, civics, criminal justice and/or American government. The scholarship is renewable at $500 for three additional years.

Kenney Scholarship Program

The Robert T. Kenney Scholarship Program at the American Savings Foundation is accepting scholarship applications from current high school seniors, current college students and nontraditional adult students who will be enrolled in college for the 2017-18 academic year.

Students from Beacon Falls, Naugatuck and Prospect are eligible to apply. Current high school seniors must be ranked in the top third of their graduating class or have a 2.5 grade point average or higher. Current college students must be maintaining a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Waterbury UNICO

The Waterbury Chapter of UNICO National is accepting scholarship applications from graduating high school seniors of Italian descent who either live in and/or attend high school in Waterbury.
